Our Side of The Story Regarding Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach

We have been getting asked questions lately about Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach in regards to the ongoing feud between this self serving politician and our organization.  We would like to take a moment to explain our side of the story as to why we are attacking Commissioner Leinbach and why it is very important for every citizen, and every business to take a stand against politicians regardless of political parties that threaten their existence.  So with that said lets begin.

Back in early 2011, there was a special election being held to fill the vacant seat of State Senator Mike O'Pake.  The two contenders were Republican Larry Medaglia, and Former Berks County Commissioner Judy Schwank.  Larry Medaglia at the time was under extensive cyber attacks which were suspected to be coming from Commissioner Leinbach, as to this day according to several political sources Commissioner Leinbach is very angry that The Berks GOP selected Medaglia as the candidate over Leinbach's personal friend and power player at The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce Michael Rivera.  Berks Technology Solutions was approached by The Berks GOP, and Larry Medaglia to work on a way of getting his campaign website on par from an SEO perspective, and to counter these negative attacks in cyberspace that were going on.  Since Berks Technology Solutions has declined membership in The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce on numerous occasions, that did not make us a slave to intimidation like our competition was claiming to be subjected to as they were members of The Chamber and wanted to stay on the good side of Christian Leinbach and Michael Rivera.  Needless to say Christian Leinbach was not happy with our involvement in Larry Medaglia's campaign.

After the campaign, Christian Leinbach approached BTS with "concerns" about one of our YouTube videos that displayed the website of The Reading Parking Authority being infected with a virus.  As most of you know we have been using this video as promotional material to promote Avast Anti-Virus products as it was the only product initially to detect this treat and save people a lot of headaches.  Commissioner Leinbach's "concerns" were connected to the fact that he has close ties to several Reading Parking Authority Officials, with some of them donating to his campaign, and that Mr. Leinbach was also on record praising Reading Parking Authority during the unveiling of Al Boscov's statue in 2009.  I explained to Mr. Leinbach that the video in question was not setup to harm his reelection as he believes it was, but to simply promote and market anti-virus and cyber security products, along with educating the public in these serious matters.

Shortly after that discussion, we received reports that Christian Leinbach called BTS a "scam operation" at one of Reading Parking Authority's events at Canal Street Pub.  At that point we made a public response addressing that statement which resulted in a feud with Commissioner Leinbach ever since.  In our opinion, Christian Leinbach will do and say whatever it takes to get himself reelected, and people like that are dangerous to not only businesses like ours, but every business in Berks County, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and this country.  We took this stand, because unlike so many companies that get attacked by politicians with unfounded statements, we are not going to take such statements lying down.  We have challenged Commissioner Leinbach to provide hard evidence to justify his statement, and to this day he can't come up with one thing, because we at BTS take care of the people we service, and we don't leave projects half done, or sub par, and we will continue that great work for many years to come. 

It was a great pleasure to work with Larry, and his campaign manager Greg Becker.  Larry is a genuine guy who really cares about his community, and out of my long career in IT, I have never seen such dirty SEO tactics like I have seen used against Larry during that campaign by Judy Schwank, and friends of Christian Leinbach.  We overhauled his campaign website and enhanced it in less than a week between myself, and members of my SEO team to push down the unfounded attacks that were being launched.  We hope to have the pleasure of working with Larry again, as well as Greg, because what we did in a week would take most people 1 to 2 months to do was just amazing and we would love to show that ability again.
